GDPR Certification Goes Global with Europrivacy

Europrivacy Webinar

The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has taken two major decisions that will facilitate international data transfers: It approved the extension of Europrivacy, the European Data Protection Seal of the GDPR, to be used in non-European countries. It also approved a specific version of Europrivacy criteria to be used as a mechanism for international data transfers under Art. 46 GDPR.

This means companies worldwide that are subject to the GDPR can now use Europrivacy certification to 1) demonstrate compliance of their data processing activities with GDPR requirements, and 2) support international data transfers by demonstrating appropriate safeguards under Art. 46.

This webinar will present the latest developments from the EDPB decisions, explain what they mean in practice, and how GDPR certification can support your company to turn compliance into a valuable asset and competitive advantage.

Participants will gain insights into:

✔️ How the global extension of Europrivacy works in practice

✔️ The use of certification as a mechanism for international data transfers under Article 46 GDPR

✔️ The differences between certification and other data transfer mechanisms

✔️ Practical perspectives from Supervisory AuthorityCertification Body, and DPO

✔️ Live Q&A with Europrivacy experts to answer your specific questions

Join us to gain insights from Sébastien Ziegler (President of Europrivacy International Board of Experts), Alain Hermann (Commissioner, CNPD Luxembourg Data Protection Authority), Giovanni Francescutti (Global Technical Manager, DNV), and Petra Ziegler (Senior Privacy and AI Trust Expert, Allianz) who will share their perspectives on the practical implications of this new global framework.
